Simmons Moving & Storage was founded in 1927, about the same time Henry Ford began producing trucks that were large enough to haul goods commercially. We currently operate 3 offices in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes. At our St. Tammany office location at 1601 Highway 190 North in Covington Louisiana, you can request an estimate for moving services or book a move locally or anywhere in the nation. We also carry a complete line of moving supplies at this location to help you pack or package your goods to be moved safely. In Washington Parish we operate 2 offices. One is located at 213 Shenandoah Street in Bogalusa, Louisiana where we have in addition to moving services, Industrial warehousing along with freight receiving and delivering for our commercial and residential customers.

A few years later, Mr. Dunaway stepped down from ownership and our grandfather, Albert Simmons took over the business. After working in the business for over 30 years, Mr. Simmons, due to poor eyesight passed the company over to two of his four sons, Albert Simmons, Jr. and Bill Simmons Sr. around 1960. From approximately 1965 until 1999 the company was run by Bill Simmons, Sr. with his two sons, Terry and Billy Simmons, Jr. In 1999 with Mr. Bill Simmons, Sr. retiring, Terry Simmons sold his ownership to his brother, Billy, Jr. From that time through the present, Simmons Moving & Storage LLC is being operated by Billy and Sharon Simmons along with their two sons, Travis and Casey Miley. Simmons Moving and Storage has grown through the years to be one of the most respected businesses of its type in the state of Louisiana as well as the U.S.A. At Simmons Moving & Storage, no job is too small or too large. We can move your mattress across the hall to another room or move your mattress factory from Miami, Florida to Seattle, Washington. We are a full service moving company and have been for over 77 years. We have an experienced packing crew who can package your goods for transporting. Our moving crew will load your belongings and meet you at your destination when you want, not when it is convenient for us. We have on occasion, after a customer had been transferred to another town, packed and moved the contents of their home, arranged for maid services to clean their house, and upon completion, delivered the keys to the real-estate agent. We maintain safe, state of the art equipment and vehicles to make your experience with moving a safe, consistent, secure, and pleasurable one. In addition to residential and company moves, we perform office moves, business relocations, and we can also transport your automobiles. If you need a roll of carpet for your home or business, if you order a TV set or a set of mattresses over the internet, or buy an antique armoire or teaster bed on E-bay, you can have it shipped to us. We will inspect your items for damage, store them in our climate-controlled warehouse until you are ready to receive them. We can then deliver, uncrate or un-package, setup your new purchase, and then haul off the debris. Or, we will receive the freight and you can pick it up at our warehouse. We perform these services for our residential, business, and Industrial customers. We at Simmons receive, deliver, and setup many store fixtures in the shopping malls all over the country. Our clients have included Tommy Hilfiger, Wilson's Leather, X-Box, and more. We bring all our expertise together to perform a single vendor solution for your transportation and installation needs. We pick up and deliver some of the finest antiques from the auction houses in Louisiana including many of the famous businesses located on Magazine Street in New Orleans and deliver them to towns and cities all over the U.S.A.
