Our business began in 1927,
about the same time Henry Ford began producing trucks that were large enough
to haul goods commercially.
The company was founded by Albert Simmons and Ira
Dunaway. A few years later, Mr. Dunaway stepped down from ownership and our
grandfather, Albert Simmons took over the business.

Mr. Albert
Simmons, 1928
After working in the business for over 30 years, Mr.
Simmons, due to poor eyesight passed the company over to two of his four
sons, Albert Simmons, Jr. and Bill Simmons Sr. around 1960.
From approximately 1965 until 1999 the company was run by
Bill Simmons, Sr. with his two sons, Terry and Billy Simmons, Jr. In 1999,
with Mr. Bill Simmons, Sr. retiring, Terry Simmons sold his ownership to his
brother, Billy, Jr. From
that time through the present, Simmons Moving & Storage LLC is being
operated by Billy and Sharon Simmons along with their two sons, Travis and
Casey Miley. Simmons
Moving and Storage has grown through the years to be one of the most
respected businesses of its type in the state of Louisiana as well as the
U.S.A. |
